2002 was a banner year for Bentley, with a record number of 114 projects awarded. This success is a tribute to and validation of Bill’s vision for the company. The projects during this year included a new design-build for the reconstruction of four FDOT rest areas, numerous Ross Dress for Less stores, and SunPass Challenge II. The latter encompassed renovation of several toll plazas for Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise and several minor projects for both Orange and Seminole Counties under the respective continuing contracts.
With a record number of projects complemented by a growing staff, the need arose for additional office space. This prompted expansion of Oak Reserve, and Oak Reserve II was constructed, which today houses Bentley’s Civil Engineering and Structural Engineering departments.
