Bentley History and Development: 2007 – Green Design Is No Passing Fad

US Green Building CouncilSince completion of numerous rest areas and renovations for the Florida Department of Transportation, Bentley was awarded a study for the agency that required Bentley staff to visit all 53 rest areas in Florida. This knowledge proved beneficial for Bentley in competing for similar projects in the future.

It was during this year that energy-efficient, environmentally friendly design, also known as “green design,” became more of a standard in the construction industry. In order to remain a front runner in green design, Bentley encouraged all company design professionals to become certified as LEED Accredited Professionals. Between 2007 and 2009, seven Bentley employees became LEED APs.
