Bentley was awarded its first roadway project in Jacksonville for the Florida Department of Transportation. It consisted of resurfacing 3.8 miles of a portion of SR 13. This opportunity greatly expanded Bentley’s civil engineering services, which has grown ever since.
While work in the public sector was strong at the time for the company, Bentley continued in the retail and restaurant industries with the award of a new client, Arby’s. Bentley designed a completely new prototype for a new look for this fast food restaurant.
It was in 1997 that Bentley finally moved into its permanent home. Construction on Oak Reserve at 665 W. Warren Avenue in Longwood was complete and the homecoming was celebrated with a barbecue for employees, associates, family, and friends.
